Persistencebit proudly presents his second release on Bitmedia series signed by two important names of the Italian electronic scene Mario Masullo (Defrag Records) and Andrea Gabriele (authors themself of various records and various collaborations with others important musicians).

They start their collaboration on Symbiosis Orchestra with other musicians using computer, drum machine and other devices.
For this work the duo uses mainly acoustic instruments that better corresponds to the purpose that Mario and Andrea have in mind from the beginning of this work; mixed their various musical influences as jazz, latin, soul, echoes of Canterbury pop for creating songs that are more closer to the concept of pop songs as regards to the concept of the experimental music.

So we can hear the beautiful Spanish guitar on “Breathless” or the trumpet in “Dub in blue” that reminds the unforgettable atmosphere of the first Clock Dva work “Thirst” or the guitar on “Few birds” with his soul jazz mood, the misterious moments of “Underclouds” in which emerges the sound of flute and an acoustic guitar, that takes the listener in a fabolous dimension, seems really so close to the Court of Crimson King!
“Fantastic Trees” and “Saturated Feeling” are maybe the top of the album, both tracks are inspired for the using of vocals or instruments as the flute so close to the better pages of the Canterbury sound, really charming. “Yes i wanna do it” mixes synth heavy jazz and latin funk rhythms with a distant voice; ”Outdoor Mantra” is a fantastic dream that seems to take us in another dimension maybe in a wonderland.
Paraphrasing the title maybe the colours do not move the people but sure plunge in a beautiful dream from which it is really difficult to awake.

Der Betrachter fühlt sich ganz ohne Drogen bewusstseinserweitert. Eine ähnliche Wirkung ergibt sich beim Hören von „Les Couleurs Ne Meuvent Pas Les Peuples“ der beiden Italiener Mario Masullo und Andrea Gabriele. Um einen ihrer Songnamen anzuwenden: Es stellt sich eine Sättigung der Gefühle ein. Das Klischee des Gefühls, in rosa Wattewölkchen gepackt zu sein, wird ergänzt durch die andere Plattitüde der extrem geschärften Sinne. Während folglich die Klänge voller schmerzhafter Klarheit wahrgenommen werden, verbreitet sich ein Empfinden wohliger Geborgenheit. Gitarre und Percussion, Spielzeug- und Feldaufnahmen, Flöten, Pfeifen und analoge Synthesizer versetzen den Hörer in einen Zustand zwischen Regression und Weltflucht ins All, wobei das Bild dieses Weltraums vollkommen analog erzeugt und von plüschigen Außerirdischen bevölkert wird. Die geschaffenen Klangräume überzeugen allerdings nicht durchgängig. Über inszenatorische Mängel lassen jedoch die von den elektronisch-ambienten Stücken erzeugten Soma-Räusche schnell hinwegblicken. Verwirrt also ein Takt einmal, klingt das Atmen im Albumhöhepunkt „Breathless“ weniger atemlos als lechzend, kompensiert dies die beruhigende Schönheit der nachfolgenden Takte, der umgebenden Arrangements. Die Musik wirkt als effektiver Tranquilizer mit stimmungsaufhellender Nebenwirkung. Allein „Yes I Wanna Do It“ mit seiner nervösen lateinamerikanischen Percussion und der Dancefloorjazz des „Dub In Blue“ durchbrechen diesen Grundcharakter und wirken so weniger als Auflockerung, denn als Störfaktor in den harmonischen Klangwelten des Albums. Am Ende platziert, hinterlassen diese beiden Stücke somit zwar einen leicht faden Beigeschmack, vermögen aber nicht, den Gesamteindruck zu schmälern, eine Wahrnehmung, die subtil an die von Airs „Moon Safari“ ausgelösten Empfindungen erinnert. Selbst scheinbar altbackene Stücke wie „Fantastic Trees“ passen sich perfekt in die wohlig einhüllende, erhebende wie erdende Grundcharakteristik ein. Auch ein leicht nervöses Stück wie „What’s Love“ ergänzt einfach und effektiv die wärmend-soulige Atmosphäre des Albums. Harmonie und Erhebendes bestimmen das von Flötenklängen durchzogene „Underclouds“. Die Grundstimmung legt jedoch bereits gleich zu Beginn „Few Birds“ mit fließenden Synthesizerflächen und Andrea Gabrieles umarmendem Gesang. „Les Couleurs Ne Meuvent Pas Les Peuples“ ist ein erstaunliches, ein heimeliges, aber nicht langweiliges Werk, ein Wohlfühl-Album, das fesselt. Gabriele und Masullo vermögen zu vermeiden, dass ihre durchaus nicht topaktuellen Klangbildern altmodisch erscheinen. In general terms, the music produced by Italian sound designer and composer Gabriele ranges from experimental to disco, while the playing field of Rome-based sound artist Masullo is equally broad, encompassing as it does minimal techno, dub, and experimental music. In the Symbiosis Orchestra context, Masullo and Gabriele are credited with computer, drum machines, keyboards, guitar, and bass but they expand on that sound palette considerably on Les Coleurs ne meuvent pas les peuples (The Colours do not move the peoples). The forty-eight-minute release presents a rich and typically laid-back blend of jazz, Latin, soul, and electronics that's closer in spirit to song-based pop than free-form experimental music. Masullo and Gabriele sprinkle the tracks with acoustic and electric guitars, hushed vocals, analogue synthesizers, woodwinds, electric piano, and drums, and even manage to work in trombone, flute, and a blaring trumpet at particular moments. A synthesizer solo chirps in Zawinul-like manner during “Underclouds” while subtle shadings of Spanish guitar appear in the languorous “Breathless.” The material ranges from relaxed to upbeat, and for every dream-like setting (the beatless lullaby “Fantastic Trees” and the lilting, synthetic wonderland “Outdoor Mantra”), there's a foray into Latin-tinged swing (“What's Love”). Representative of the album as a whole is “Few Birds” whose laid-back electronic soul-jazz features murmuring voices alongside bright analogue synthesizers and an ascending shuttle of shoegaze guitars. Elsewhere, “Dub In Blue” offers a bubbly blend of Latin, electronics, and jazz while “Yes I Wanna Do It!” mixes synth-heavy jazz fusion, Latin-funk rhythms, and gravelly voice-over into a trippy whole. A four-minute hidden track of windswept ambient vapours appears at album's end, perhaps meant as a subtle wink and nod to the style of music one might normally associate with the two producers."
