ANDREA
GABRIELE musician, sound designer, multimedia artist.
I know that any music has a carefully hidden and marvelous meaning to it.
Just like people.
I like to play with this idea when i'm composing or looking for new sounds.
I compose original music and sound design for videos, commercials, exhibitions.
I also do interactive audio video installations.
I did it in/for art galleries, electronic arts festivals, music labels, me, and brands such as MTV, BMW, Tudor-Rolex, Pirelli, Breil, Heineken, Ballantyne Cashmere, Vodafone, Arena and others..
I released records under several monikers (pirandelo, mou lips, symbiosis orchestra, clap rules) for labels based in Usa, France, Spain, Italy, Uk and Switzerland, with different projects from experimental to disco music.
My shows and installations are featureds by real time audio video interaction and has been presented at the main electronic arts festival around Europe and my releases are worldwide distributed.
I took lectures about real time interaction with visuals and my work in art schools such as Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), Nuova Accademia delle Belle Arti (Naba) di Milano or Galleria d'arte Moderna GAM Gallarate, and i use to teach computer music in private courses.
I organized electronic arts festivals, meetings, concerts and workshops with the Post Post Studio.
I collaborated with artists such as Bianco-Valente, Claudio Sinatti, Scanner, Luigi Pagliarini, Iris Garrelfs, Mario Masullo, Andrea Di Cesare, Marita Cosma, Marco Mazzei, Fabrizio Mammarella, Hypo and many others.
My music has been published in the same releases or festivals of artists such as Oren Ambarchi, Taylor Deupree, Christian Fennesz, Giuseppe Ielasi, Stephan Mathieu, Sebastien Roux, Vladislav Delay, Luigi Pagliarini, Bianco-Valente, Scanner, Kim Cascone, Otolab, Thomas Köner/Asmus Tietchens, Richard Chartier, Radian, Rechenzentrum,
Wang Inc., Saule, Steve Roden, John Hudak, Hypo, O.Lamm, MyJazzyChild and others.
I play everythings.
I'm quick.
I love my own family.

One truly inspired soundtrack.

WHITE_LINE, January 2009
Engaging, imaginative and peaceful.
LEICESTER BANGS (Uk), February 2009
FRANCE-MUSIQUE / TAPAGE NOTTURNE, February 2009
Un résultat étonnant et plein de surprises.
LIABILITY, August 2009
GUMMI GUMMI (France), June 2009
HELGA-ROCKT.DE (Germany), June 2009
Absolutely
brilliant stuff
SMALLFISH (Uk), June 2008
The material ranges from relaxed to upbeat, and for every dream-like setting (the beatless lullaby “Fantastic Trees” and the lilting, synthetic wonderland “Outdoor Mantra”), there's a foray into Latin-tinged swing (“What's Love”).
TEXTURA (Canada), June 2009
A
virtual beehive rampant with ideas and imagery, Gabriele’s obstreperous
dynamics cohere the last ten years of computer-assisted sound design into a
46-minute menagerie of magic realism.
SIGNAL TO NOISE (Usa), November 2008
This is a thinking man's record, with crusty edges and warm insides.
IGLOO MAG (Canada), April 2005
The very lightness of touch that affords the tracks a
sort of cutesiness also gives rise to a certain understatement and
intelligence, a certain purpose and sense of possibility that results in
fascinating patterns of overtones, which henceforth engage and otherwise
tease the former in a rather festive manner.
EARLABS (Usa), March 2008
KATHODIK (Italy), April 2005
Pirandèlo Suona is the best headphone album of the year by far.
NEW YORK ALTERNATIVE PAPER (Usa), March 2005
This is an absolutely gorgeous collection of nine top-shelf tracks that fuse the best elements of Fennesz, Oval, Mouse on Mars and Microstoria.
STYLUS MAGAZINE (www), March 2005
Life Could Be Beauty Enough. (8)
BLOW UP (Italy), April 2005
